La Maggiolina joins the Piana del Sele PGI with its arugula

The Italian growers’ organisation OP La Maggiolina has expanded its greenhouse area by another 25 hectares. The organisation specialises in growing baby leaf and with this expansion it is the largest of its kind in Europe. Of the total 235 hectares of greenhouses, 210 are certified organic, which is also a record. The crops have also been awarded the PGI label issued by the Consorzio di Tutela della Rucola della Piana del Sele.

«We never stopped, even in the midst of emergency»

Among the farms that never stopped during the emergency, despite being in the most risky areas, there is also the Op La Maggiolina di Martinengo, in the province of Bergamo.

The organization brings together 14 farms that all produce the same type of product, cutted  baby leaves, intended for the first range or unwashed packaged product.
